More about Dr. Unützer

Jürgen is an internationally recognized psychiatrist and health services researcher whose work focuses on innovative models that integrate mental health and general medical services. He also focuses on translating research on evidence-based behavioral health interventions into effective clinical and public health practice. He has more 300 scientific publications to his name and is the recipient of numerous federal and foundation grants and awards for his research to deliver patient-centered integrated mental health services. 

In addition to his role as Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Jürgen holds adjunct appointments as Professor in the School of Public Health. He founded the AIMS Center (Advancing Integrated Mental Health Solutions) and the IMPACT Program, which support national and international dissemination of evidence-based collaborative care programs for depression, along with other common behavioral health problems in primary care and other general medical settings.
