Laura-Mae Baldwin, MD, MPH is a Professor Emeritus of Family Medicine at the University of Washington (UW) with a focus on implementation of evidence-based interventions into diverse primary care clinical settings. She is the Founder and Senior Advisor for the WWAMI region Practice and Research Network, a network of more than 100 primary care practices across the five-state WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) region that collaborate on research. Laura-Mae is also a faculty member in the Dissemination and Implementation program for the University of Washington’s Institute of Translational Health Sciences.

Much of Laura-Mae’s work focuses on increasing access to treatment for chronic pain and opioid use disorder in rural primary care practice. This work often involves testing the implementation of new strategies (e.g., telehealth, systems-based models) for implementing evidence-based treatments such as buprenorphine in routine practice.
