Doyanne Darnell, PhD is an Assistant Professor at UW’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. As core faculty with UWAC, she supports the R03 pilot program and monthly seminar for grantees. She serves in a similar role as core faculty with the University of Washington’s Suicide Care Research Center.

Doyanne’s research focuses on addressing the needs of trauma survivors and the common comorbidities they experience such as posttraumatic stress, depression, anxiety, substance use, and suicidality. Her research aims to better reach patients through integrating brief behavioral interventions within general medical settings and deploying novel, technology-enhanced, scalable training for healthcare providers to deliver these interventions, including the use of pragmatic methods for assessing the quality of intervention delivery. https://darnell.psychiatry.uw.edu/

Dr. Darnell is a licensed psychologist and provides psychotherapy to patients at Harborview Medical Center. She works at the Madison Clinic and is the Clinical Director of Psychological Services at Harborview Mental Health and Addiction Services where she consults on the implementation of evidence-based psychotherapy and specializes in psychotherapy with patients who have experienced trauma.
