Ben Greer Award Will Help Fund Proof-of Concept for Treatment of Depression in Urban and Rural Cancer Centers

Gary and Amy, recipients of an R03, have been leading research around depression care in rural and urban cancer centers- applying a human-centered design process to discover contextual constraints and gather requirements for the design and development of a digital platform to support the delivery of Collaborative Care Management (CoCM) for depression. Their work will be part of a larger scope thanks to the Ben Greer Award!

Gary and Amy’s senior mentor, Jesse Fann, and Dean Putt, Director of Olympic Medical Cancer Center in Sequim, WA, are the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance’s recipients of the Ben Greer Award, providing startup funds which will allow Jesse, Gary, Amy, and the rest of the team to create a proof-of-concept trial providing data to support the needs of community oncology patients and the application of CoCM in additional rural locations.
